common misconceptions about pressure washing?

I think one of the biggest misconceptions of pressure washing is in the term “pressure.”

The idea is that pressure washing contractors only use high amounts of pressure to clean any surface they encounter.

When you walk down the outdoor tool section of the home improvement store you see pressure washers.

But for Mr. Curb Appeal 360 pressure washing pressure washing takes on lots of meanings. Yes, I have robust equipment that can use high amounts of pressure to clean. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to use high amounts of pressure to clean.

Sometimes, pressure washing is using a simple garden hose to achieve cleanliness is all I need. For example – when cleaning dirt dauber nests off of porch ceilings or out of window tracks.

Other times, like when cleaning Hardie siding or wood siding, I use pressure washing tips that diffuse pressure to apply low amounts of pressure and high amounts of water volume which enable me to clean those surfaces without damaging them.

On windows and glass, we use very low pressure and clean by glass cleaning brushes or deionized water from our window cleaning system.

In summary, pressure washing means cleaning with pressure. That doesn’t mean a 4000 psi pressure washer is used. It can be pressure of a garden hose, a squirt bottle, or other low pressure means.

We’re pros at determining the right amount of pressure to use on different surfaces of any home.
